Working in the Professional Services Team, you will be part of the team responsible for supporting our Real-time Charging product, VoluBill DCP (Dynamic Charging Platform), a high performance, real-time charging system, used by over 50 customers world-wide.
The work on customer site will be in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a period of 6 months.
You will be responsible for:
• Providing help to the customer on the day to day running of the system such as configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, finding workarounds.
• Being the point of contact for any system issue for the customer
• Being the interface with VoluBill support in Denmark
• Patching DCP installations
• Escalating issues to product development or engineering departments and following up on resolutions.
• Assisting 3rd level support (product development/engineering) in further debugging escalated issues.
• Communicating with project managers any problems or delays in project implementations and adhering to VoluBill project implementation standards.
Requirements
• The most important qualification is the ability and willingness to learn about our software and an interest in always providing the best service for our customers.
• Experience of the operation of real-time, mission-critical systems.
• Experience of working in a UNIX environment.
• Knowledge of networking protocols.
• Knowledge of Oracle Databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of Client/Server systems.
• Knowledge of distributed, fault tolerant systems.
• Strong English written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
• Arabic speaking (verbal mandatory, written a plus)
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in interrupt-driven mode
• A self motivated individual who works well in a team environment and who is willing to travel to visit our customers on-site.
Skills
- Experience of managing complex and real-time IT systems, preferably in a telecoms environment.
- Familiar with:
• Routine operations and maintenance procedures, including back-up, restore, performance monitoring
• Hardware, ideally HP Proliant and/or Sun T100 and StorageTex 2540
• Unix operating systems, ideally Linux and/or Solaris
• Database management system administration, ideally MySQL and/or Oracle v10, with some experience of performance tuning
- Understanding of one or more of the following: mobile data transmission protocols, real-time rating and billing, customer account management, pre-paid billing platforms, Java Node Monitoring Tool, SNMP
- Ability to diagnose problems and manage them through to resolution, using Volubill’s support and technical resources as required
- Good presentation and communication skills, able to represent Volubill in our client’s environment. Ability to gather client’s needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Fluent English and Arabic languages.
Education
Qualified in IT or related technical discipline.
